Inspired by Iceland

Thanks to @profbrucehood (Bruce M. Hood, Director of the Bristol Cognitive Development Centre in the Experimental Psychology Department at the University of Bristol) we learned about this beautiful video. Abby has done some work with Bruce in the past, mainly this video and helping build his website. If you’re into origins of supernatural beliefs, intuitive theory formation, object representation, spatial cognition, inhibitory control and general cognitive development, you should totally follow him and check out his blog. Anyhoo, this post is actually about ICELAND! What a beautiful country. For TeamJADED to go to Iceland it’s about 4209 miles. For Mr. Hood, only 1109 miles. Color us jealous.

Get past the first :30 of cheesiness, and I promise you’ll be smiling by the end of the video. Enjoy.

INSPIRED BY ICELAND

A Dance For One.

We love when companies (ahem, @LOVER_) use video in unique ways to promote their products. LOVER® created a beautiful video using ballet to display their new line. The cinematography is fabulous, the dancer amazing, and overall… it makes Abby really want their clothes. If only she lived in Australia, and had a million dollars…

To celebrate our new collection arriving in store we’ve created a short film that captures the essence and mood of the collection.
The film is a dreamlike glimpse into the life of Amber Scott, Senior Artist with The Australian Ballet.
Directed by Alice Wesley Smith and Kasia Werstak.

Crank Balls

Happy Monday! I’m sure you’re just as cranky as we are waking up early on a Monday. This video should put a smile on your face though.

The Crank Balls are trapped in a horrible colorless void until an infectious happiness changes their lives forever.

Mesmerizing Videos. Sculpture, Space, & Spirals.

Sometimes you just have to slow down. These three videos are not only inspiring, but mesmerizing. They’ll suck you in.

Foleyroom

An audiovisual soundsculpture, reacting to the sound of Amon Tobin’s Foleyroom, at Milwaukee Art Museum.

Visnjan observatory timelapse teaser

This video was entirely made out of photographs. There is not a single “live” video shot in it. Visnjan Observatory is situated in the western part of the Istrian peninsula. It is part of the picturesque city of Visnjan. During the past 15 years, Visnjan became one of the world’s most prolific discovery sites for the small bodies in the Solar System.

Spheres

This one is long. It was apparently the backdrop for a “robotic & live music performance.” If you don’t have time for it all, I suggest scrolling through to 4:45.

This is a little space opera : a mesmerizing choreography evoking atoms, DNA, seeds, spirals, fractals, etc… inspired by Anaxagoras of Clazomenae. philosophy.gr/presocratics/anaxagoras.htm

Around the Bay Girl

And another one!

Sorry if you’re a long time reader and you already know what the Make It Happen project is all about. We’re doing a little blog house keeping, and we needed a new post for a new link. Enjoy the changes!
