Build your own Merlin

Today’s DIY Friday continues on the DSLR stabilization theme. If you shoot with DSLR’s you know that stabilization is key. This is a video tutorial for making a Merlin-esque stabilizer. For parts list and more info, click here. For more from the creators, Studio Amarelo, click here.

Johnnie Behiri’s Rig

DSLR Rig’s are like Erector Set’s and we’ve been getting a lot of compliments on our 7D rig from Redrock Micro. That made us curious about what other shooters are doing, so today’s DIY Friday is the evolution of Johnnie Behiri’s ENG rig from the Vimeo DSLR Mods and Pimps Channel. The music is awesome.

DIY PVC DSLR Camera Stabilizer

That as a lot of alphabet soup. We skipped DIY Thursday yesterday to blast It’s a Rough Life, so we’re picking it back up today with this video from Dave Knop.

It’s a PVC shoulder rig! Beats spending a G for Redrock… maybe? Like them on Facebook and build stuff.
